Mr. Adi Ihram Bin Dato Paduka Haji Mahmud

Mr. Adi Ihram Bin Dato Paduka Haji Mahmud, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Defence of Brunei Darussalam is an international advisor of Bagan Vision Institute (BVI). He has played a pivotal role in strengthening bilateral and multilateral defense diplomacy through regional and international cooperation in ASEAN. He is an ASEAN expert, and a renowned diplomat in defence and security establishments in ASEAN, and Asian Pacific region. His influential position within ASEAN, and professional wisdom has supported ASEAN’s defence and security mechanisms in contributing to the peaceful and prosperous region. Due to his outstanding service, he has also been honored with the high medals from the government of Brunei. As an international advisor, his valuable contribution to, and participation in BVI is a great privilege and honor for all of us, including our partner institutes.

• 2003 – 2011: Head of Legal Affairs Unit, Permanent Secretary’s Office, Ministry of Defense, Brunei.
• 2017 – 2020: Director, Directorate of Defense Policy, Brunei.
• 2020 – present: Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy & Strategy), Ministry of Defense, Brunei.
