Guidelines for Authors and Submission

1. Document Categories and Length Parameters

The BVI Journal processes submissions across three distinct textual profiles. The specified length parameters encompass all text bodies, source citations, tables, and graphic narratives.

Manuscripts must be formatted uniformly to expedite the digital typesetting. Non-compliant manuscripts will be returned to authors for correction prior to evaluation.

2.1 Document Metrics

• File Interface: Documents must be submitted as editable Microsoft Word (.docx) files.
• Typeface Matrix: Use Times New Roman uniformly throughout the document.
• Glyph Size: Primary text bodies require a 12 pt size. Footnotes or endnotes must scale down to 10 pt.
• Line Separation: Double-spacing (2.0) must be active globally across all paragraphs, block indentations, and bibliographies.
• Page Layout Margins: Set symmetrically to 2.54 cm (1 inch) across all edges.
• Line Indexing: Continuous line numbering must be activated from page one onward to assist the evaluation committee.

2.2 Heading Layout Tiers

Organize text sections utilizing structural tiers without numbering prefixes:

• Tier 1 Heading: Centered, Bold, Capitalize Each Word (14 pt)
• Tier 2 Heading: Left-aligned, Italic, Capitalize Each Word (12 pt)
• Underlined Tier 3 Heading: Left-aligned, Underlined, Capitalize first word only (12 pt)

3.1 Equations and Mathematical Formulae

• Integration: Mathematical expressions must be embedded into the text as editable elements using the native Microsoft Word Equation Editor or MathType. Do not insert equations as flattened images.
• Numbering: Displayed equations must be centered horizontally, with a sequential Arabic numeral enclosed in parentheses positioned flush with the right margin:

• In-Text Reference: Refer to equations in the text body as “Equation 1” or “Eq. 1”. All variables must be clearly defined immediately following the expression.

3.2 Software Code, Scripts, and Algorithms

• Inline and Block Code: Short code snippets or algorithm tracks within the text must be formatted in a distinct monospaced font (e.g., Courier New, 10 pt) to separate them from narrative prose.
• Formatting: Large blocks of code should be indented, single-spaced, and presented without line numbering unless specific lines are referenced in the text.
• Hosting: Substantial codebases or full programs should not be included in the main text; they must be hosted via external public repositories (see Section 5).

• Tables must be rendered via editable text cells within your word processor’s default table tool. Flattened raster images are rejected.
• Position clear titles directly above the table (e.g., Table 1. Statistical distribution of parameters).
• Supplementary textual annotations inside the grid should utilize sequential superscript letters ($^a, ^b, ^c$).

• Titles should be under that graph or illustration. (e.g., Figure 1. The ratio of ————).
• Explanatory text blocks for figures must be typed within the main file, while the high-resolution source graphics are uploaded as isolated files.
• Resolution Benchmarks: Photographic frames require a minimum resolution of 300 DPI. Schematics, line plots, and mathematical graphs require a minimum of 1200 DPI.

The BVI Journal strongly supports the reproducibility of research. Authors are highly encouraged and in some empirical contexts required to provide supporting materials that substantiate their conclusions.

4.1 Supplemental Files

Extensive data tables, secondary questionnaire profiles, extensive code scripts, or non-essential visual files may be uploaded alongside the manuscript as Supporting Information. These files will be published online in their raw formats exactly as provided by the author, linked directly to the main text.

• Data Openness: Raw, anonymized datasets supporting the study’s conclusions should be permanently hosted in a recognized, public repository (such as Zenodo, Figshare, or OSF) with a live Digital Object Identifier (DOI).
• Code Repository: Custom software code or scripts used to generate data or run specific statistical simulations must be deposited in a public repository (e.g., GitHub, GitLab) and locked to a static, citable release DOI prior to final publication.

5.1 Article Processing Charge (APC)

To support continuous global open access, system maintenance, digital preservation, and XML layout processing, the journal charges a flat Article Processing Charge of 50 USD upon a manuscript’s official acceptance. No fees are charged during the submission or review phases.

To facilitate regional and localized financial workflows, payments can be completed via currency equivalents adjusted to the dynamic exchange value of 50 USD:

• United States Dollars: $50 USD
• Chinese Yuan (RMB): Equivalent value to $50 USD
• Myanmar Kyats (MMK): Equivalent value to $50 USD

Authors must reveal any professional, economic, or institutional alignments capable of clouding their academic objectivity. If no conflicting factors exist, insert this mandatory statement: “The author(s) confirm there are no competing financial or personal involvements relating to this work.”

5.3 Source Mapping and Citations

The journal utilizes APA 7th Edition formatting for social science disciplines, and Vancouver numeric or Harvard alphabetical styles for pure science disciplines. Every source referenced inside the text must match a detailed entry in the terminal source list.

Important Metadata Directive: Every individual citation entry must conclude with a live, functional, hyperlinked Digital Object Identifier (DOI) URL wherever one has been systematically assigned by registration agencies.

To ensure the integrity of our double-blind review process, authors must adhere to the following preparation rules before sending their manuscripts at info@baganvision.org.

• Remove all author names, email addresses, and affiliations from the main text, headers, footers, and properties of the document file.
• Avoid phrases in the text that explicitly identify past work (e.g., instead of “As we demonstrated in our previous study (Smith et al., 2023),” write “As previously demonstrated by Smith et al. (2023)”).
• Place all acknowledgments, funding declarations, and conflict of interest statements exclusively on the separate Title Page, which is not shared with reviewers.
